Gun Laws:
We are pro guns, but with restrictions. These restrictions include that you must have a background check before purchasing a gun. Automatic weaponry will be banned. There will be a limit of four guns per household. Another restriction is that weapons will not be taken, but they will only be permitted for use in designated areas or registered shooting ranges.
Standardized Testing:
Standardized testing will not be mandatory, and instead of having to opt out of them, you must sign up to take them. Our party believes that standardized testing only adds additional stress to students, and the results don’t even benefit them. We believe that if students and parents would like to take standardized tests, they will be allowed to sign up to take them. SAT’s and ACT’s will be required only if students are planning on attending college. Even though standardized tests other than SAT’s and ACT’s are not required, students can choose to take them if they’d like the extra practice for the required tests.
Marijuana and Other Drugs:
Our party wants to legalize Marijuana and decriminalize all other drugs. We think that this will benefit this country because it will lower the number of drugs smuggled across the Mexican border. This will lower the number of federal prisoners that we have either in federal jail or still waiting for their trials. Our ideal policy is that if a minor is caught in possession with drugs without the intent to sell, they should be sent to a rehab center and will be forced to complete a mandatory drug test and detox programs. Anyone caught with the intention of selling their drugs will get a warning and have their drugs taken away, but after the warning they will get put in either jail, juvie, or they must pay a fine.
Immigration:
We think that immigration should be allowed only with background checks. Although we are in favor of immigration, there of course must be a limit to people that we can let in. We will let medium sized groups of people in at certain times. We will keep families together at all costs. We will also find jobs available for all immigrants coming into the country. If they are here illegally, they will be deported and file for legal immigration.
Education Reform:
People will be required to be educated from kindergarten to at least 10th grade. All public schools will be payee for by the government and will be free until college. This does not apply to private and charter schools.
Minimum Wage:
Our party will make a minimum wage of $14 an hour. We decided on this because people who live in poverty have trouble staying above the poverty line if they make anything less than our minimum wage. This policy will greatly benefit immigrants who struggle to make enough money. We think that making anything more than minimum wage will just be too much and cause strain on tax papers.
Healthcare:
If taxpayers are paying their taxes, healthcare will be free. Depending on how seriously someone is injured, there will be small taxes for hospitals to make money; however, they will be lowered quite a bit so it’s more affordable. Ambulances will still have to be paid for, but the price will be lowered by about 50%.
Criminal Justice Reforms:
Anyone who is under 18 and commits a not serious crime will get a warning the first time, then get sent to juvie if they repeat their behavior. If a minor commits a serious crim they will be sent to juvie. If a person over the age of 18 commits a nonviolent crime, they will either be fined or serve 3-6 months in jail and cannot be held in jail for over 3 months due to not being able to get a trial. If someone 18 or older commits a violent crime, they will be sentenced to 1-80 years in jail. For very serious and violent crimes that are repetitive they will serve the death penalty.
Pandemic Response:
We will make sure that everyone older than 8 will be required to make a mask. If you have been fully vaccinated and have proof (a card of bracelet) you will not be required to wear a mask. While either sick with COVID or because of the vaccine, people will still be paid weekly. Gatherings can be as big as up to 25 people if they are all vaccinated or masked.
College Education:
Tuition rates will be lowered by 15% within the first year of Jackson’s presidency. Scholarships will still be in use. Colleges will be less expensive, and colleges will incorporate housing costs into the tuition instead of making it a separate charge and in the first year of college the student is attending the housing costs will be covered by the college.
